The Mercury Installation Quality Certification Program

The Installation Quality symbol signifies that the boat builder has met the requirements for our Installation Quality System Certification.  This is your assurance that the boat builder is committed to delivering the highest-quality products on the market and enhancing your boat ownership experience.  As a result of the boat builder's certified status, these boat manufacturers earn an additional year of factory-backed warranty.  Therefore, as of their certification date, each, new, never-before-titled MerCruiser-powered boat in the certified builder's line will come standard with two years of Mercury limited engine warranty.

More about the certification process...

The Mercury Marine Installation Quality Certification Program partners MerCruiser with boat builders to improve product quality and enhance consumer satisfaction.  The program is the first of its kind in the boating industry and the only comprehensive manufacturer-installation certification system.

Working together with boat builders and installers, Mercury engineers assist in the implementation of lean thinking for manufacturing efficiency and world-class process control on the boat builder's plant floor.  We collectively review the manufacturing and installation processes and identify opportunities to implement Lean Six Sigma practices and training programs.  Key areas of focus include assembly and component specifications, propulsion-installation processes and industry-standard end-of-line test procedures.  This rigorous system identifies areas of improvement and implements resolution before the product leaves the factory.

With the addition of the installation Quality Certification Program, Mercury not only advances the marine industry to new standards but also ensures that consumers get the highest-quality products possible so their boating experience will be the best it can possibly be.

T.E.A.M.

The Mercury Racing Total Engine Application (T.E.A.M.) initiative is a factory-approved integration process for new Mercury Racing marine propulsion systems.  The standardized process requires training of the entire OEM boat builder and dealer staff involved with the installation of the new Mercury Racing propulsion system. The program specifies qualified components to be used with the new product along with factory-approved product specifications.

The HP1075 SCi sterndrive was the first product to be supported by the Mercury Racing T.E.A.M. initiative.  Since then, the HP600 SCi,  HP700 SCi have also been accredited by the Mercury Racing T.E.A.M. initiative.

Mercury Racing, along with its parent company Mercury Marine, is the first U.S. marine engine manufacturer to be ISO 9001/2000 certified.  The T.E.A.M. initiative is a reflection of Mercury Racing's high standards and dedication to continuous quality improvement and enhanced customer satisfaction, while sustaining its leadership in the marine industry.
